Re: 4./NJG11 Bf109 WN '1666333', lost 3-4 April 1945

Hi Gents,
????
Don't understand.
1- 5/4/45 means 5 of April 1945 in French and 4 of May 1945 in English. Since Rémi is French and Rod from New Zealand, can you enlight me please?
2- The plane was "lost" just a little bit during the night of 3-4 April? since it's in NJG 11 strengh list one day or a month later (Cf point 1-).
Cheers, Franck.

Re: 4./NJG11 Bf109 WN '1666333', lost 3-4 April 1945

Hi Franck,

just a slight correction to your assumption

'5/4' means 5th April to the French and most of the english-speaking word, including NZ

'5/4' means 4th May to Americans.

The NJG11 strength return for 5th April ("5/4") includes the WN of aircraft on- and off-strength, and thus the WN of recent losses of aircraft are often shown. In this case, the WN of two Bf109s lost on the night 3-4 April are given in the strength return, while the actual losses are also individually reported in seperate ULTRA decypts.

Cheers

Rod

Hi gents,

Thanks for your answer Rod. Glad to know that. Nevertheless, the majority of Lost lists I've found on Net are written the american way, particularly the Kracker list which is english I suppose?! That's the reason I asked for this precision.
Regards,
Franck.
