Re: Identification of He-111

Hi Remi,

I have 3400 4./KG40 F8+GM flew into cliff at Krossans, Iceland on 21 May 1941 with all crew killed including pilot Oberfw Hans Joachim Durfeld.

Aircraft was in a batch of H-3/H-5 (H-5 possibly H-3 upgrades)

Regards,

David

Re: Identification of He-111

This one for me 3900, as told Matti, nothing , or so few from not free from mistakes lists , we could assume as highly improbable that the serie 3365.. to 3400.. was manned , i mean "aircrafted" , your thought about David ??

Re: Identification of He-111

Hi.

I also have this as WNr 3900:

I have a few non-GenQu references for He 111 and will check them for WNr in the range

Regards,
Andreas B

Nikita, where exactly was the plane found? The location can help to narrow down the date of loss etc. pp. ...

Hi Joerg,

Plate was found in the mountains in Krasnodar region. I suppose summer-autumn 1942 is the possible period of loss.
