Re: Internet photo of German aircraft
ADIK report 264/1945 gives a few miles S.W. of Wesel 25th March 1945 approx at 2340hrs. Ju88 G-6 3C+CS hit in port engine by AA fire after crossing the Rhine, pilot ordered crew to bale out. Pilot Fw Bruno Neuhauser uninjured, W/T Fw Erich Ries injured ( could he have later died of injuries ?), Bm Fw Alfred Hudasch and Gnr.Uffz. Rudolph Roth both uninjured. Morale initially high and exceptionllay well drilled in security.
The report states the crew landed safely and were taken P/W. the pilot first having made an abortive attempt to reach German-held territory dressed in civilian clothes Brian Bines Last edited by Brian Bines; 2nd September 2012 at 21:37. |

Abowe is other thread on them crashes. I gave the wrong crew names in post yesterday. My apologies to all. The Ultra 28.3.45 agrees with NVM and I have amended crews of 712283 and 620982 accordingly. Best regards ed |

Re: Internet photo of German aircraft
So I see now - we had 712283 as the plane crashed into the glider landing zone, 2 or more crewmembers died - so how this matched with the losses of NJG 4 ?
Looks like to investigate some more time in this case..... khorat Michael Balss |

Re: Internet photo of German aircraft
Yes, needs more info. Photos show one killed or unconsius (injured but not dead?) Cockpit behind seems Ju 88 G, but I do not see glider, so can this be other soldier or other crash. Anyone have RAF ADI(K) report for G-1 712283 3C+AR for further reading?

Re: Internet photo of German aircraft
Ok just view the pics in my book - there are 2 bodys in front of the cabin and a 3rd inside the cockpit, the same pics you will find in the book:

Re: Internet photo of German aircraft
Michael,
Thank you for the attachments. Yes, I have seen one before, not the body photo. Agree there are (minimum 1 to possibly maximum 3) bodies there but pilot seat was not armour type - was "leather" covered with oval back - and that shows - but I can not confirm there is actually an body in pilot seat. On body photo, possible two, one body hands are certain and one parachute pack, but nearest to camera can be some other cloathing than a body. Other photo show one motor is BMW 801 (as Ju 88 G-1 had) and internet photo "confirms" W.Nr. 712283 xx+AR is crashed in field where there were also (smashed or already crashed) American glider, the American soldier was involved with saving them. I can not explain why NVM give them crew as POW, unless there is error involved. Best regards ed |
