Re: Fw 190 A-5 Werknummern

Hello all,

Interesting thread because the I./NJG 1 in Venlo had one or two detached Fw190's in the autumn of 1943.

17 Aug. 1943: a Fw190A-5 (Wnr. 710014) made a belly landing near Stolberg/Aken (mf #11)
5 Sept. 1943: a Fw190A-5 (Wnr. 410272) was 25% damaged during a landing (mf #11)
18 Sept. 1943: a Fw190A-5 (CS+CR) crashed due to enginetrouble, 95%. Wnr. 1609 (Fw190A-5 says RL 20/248 and RL 2 III/776) or 160096 (Fw190G-3 says RL 22/7)

and finally we have a Fw190 loss (Wnr. 581 ?) on 8 Jan.1944 but this bird was of Luftbeobachterstaffel 3. I don't know whether this was an A-5 as well and as a nightfighter buff, I have no clue if 581 does ring a bell to someone.

All the best, Marcel

Re: Fw 190 A-5 Werknummern

Hi Marcel.
On 08 Jan 44 it was a Fw 190 A-4 WNr. 0140581, Ltn. Ludwig Wirtz KIA. I do not have anything else on CS+CR.

Regards,

Norbert

Re: Fw 190 A-5 Werknummern

Norbert,

your first entry: 840008 GP+LA to 840027 GP+LT could not be correct.

I know the GP+LA is written in the GQM loss report but this block is complete full with late production Bü 181 planes. I have various Bü 181 entries from Flugbücher with these registrations.

Hi Merlin,

I can confirm your statememt above :
GP+LA Bü181 / FFS A5 September 1944
GP+LT Bü181 / no further entries found

Means 4 sure not a Fw190

Reagrds, Rainer

Hi Merlin and Rainer,
thanks for the corrections! Is the entire block from GP+LA to GP+LZ for the Bü 181?

Regards,

Norbert

Norbert,

I have GP+LA, B, E, H, I, K, L, M, N, P, Q, W, X and Y with Bü 181 aircraft. I assume that is the entire block.
