Roggenkamp, Neil survived and was assisted by the resistance, returned to Australia and led a full life. Neil passed away today at the age of 92

F/L Douglas Charles Eva (147195), DFC: 165 Sqn

A relative recently provided further details about Doug Eva: he was Australian by birth; served in the UK, Malta (1435 Sqn), and North Africa; and was killed in a light a/c while working for the UN in Tanzania in 12/80.

Cosmick59: Sorry, I somehow missed your post. Thanks for your tribute to Neil Roggenkamp.

Redcap50: Thanks for that info re the loss of Bill Vale.

But just a reminder that this thread is primarily concerning Australians enlisted in the Royal Air Force, and on ops with 2nd TAF, Fighter Command/ADGB, 100 Group, during the period indicated, not Royal Australian Air Force members serving in RAF units.

I hope you can appreciate the difference!
