Re: Need ID of Spitfire ??oX FL Wheels Down & Burned on Beach at Dunkirk

I may be wrong, but I think this was discussed here previously?

A possibly significant feature of this aeroplane is that it almost certainly has a Rotol propellor. This is either one of the relatively few metal bladed Rotol aircscrews (they were a mag alloy) or else the wooden-bladed version, which would surely put it rather later than the 'Dunkirk' period?

Re: Need ID of Spitfire ??oX FL Wheels Down & Burned on Beach at Dunkirk

Andy,

Does this mean that if it was "one of the relatively few metal bladed Rotol aircscrews (they were a mag alloy)" that it could then be one of the Dunkirk forced-landings? Or does this rule it out of the Dunkirk period completely?
