I like know if any flights by him are recorded to Iceland area (26West etc.). Possibly only after May 1942.

Re: Pictures from my Grandfather 1.(F)123 Norway 1942 ff
Thank you very much, Much appriciated!
Most if not all the photos are new to me, but its the logbook that says so much. Very interesting entries in his logbook; several flight to the Faroe-Islands, but no flights to East-Iceland. "LB" notation on flights on the A6+EH and A6+FH over Scapa Flow, Leirwick etc. in May and June 1942 likely denote Luftbild (Vertical Photo-"Mapping") from that altitude. Two aircraft with these codes were lost in the autumn. All Ju 88 D´s could carry larg mapping cameras but it appears most flying was visual recce at lo level. Also still having Do 17 (A6+OH) in summer 1941, and also flying Do 17 with 1.(F)/124 (code G2+AL) was surprise, I thought long since replaced by Ju 88 D´s. The Fw 200 Condor training in summer 1942 likely because unit 1.(F)/120 got some of them in the autumn. Note there is NOT "Ju 88" marked on flights in November/December 1942, so I wonder if these are Ju 88 or Fw 200. Best regards Ed |

When I try to download, I simply get 'Sorry page not found'. Given that edNorth managed it, what am I doing wrong?

Re: Pictures from my Grandfather 1.(F)123 Norway 1942 ff
One of the pilots Losse flew with was Lt. Schütze, see entries 13., 18, and 23. September 1941. This pilot was Rudolf Schütze that flew mostly He 111´s with Wettekette Nord (1940) and Westa Luftflotte 5 afterwards, then with Westa 6 in Banak, and crashing in Arado Ar 232 near Banak. He made many pioneering flights, including first Luftwaffe He 111 recce flight over Reykjavík City (Iceland) in November 1940. His incredible flight story is told in full in book "Wetterflieger in der Arktis 1940-1944" by Werner Schwerdtfeger and Franz Selinger. Motorbuch Verlag 1982, German text, ISBN 3-87943-854-4
Thanks again, Best regards, Ed |
