Re: Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories

Hi

Also believe the name is Vowinckel, but in documents I have seen spelled with a c.

Regards,

Yep, with the assistance of Jorn's tip, I'll go with VOWINCKEL too.

Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories No. 2

Gents

Many thanks indeed for your help with this, to be honest as a Stelv. Kommandeur I was not overly confident the signatory would be identified.

Major Otto Vowinckel it is, and I am very grateful for your time and effort.

Just No. 1 to go and it is all 3 identified.

Regards Richard.

Re: Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories

Hello Richard,
for item 1 I would read the Name "Sommer" or "Somner".
Hope it will help.
Best regards

Re: Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories

Thanks, Manfred. If SOMMER, then probably this officer:

SOMMER, Dr. Otto. (DOB: 22.10.91).
01.09.37 Oberst, appt Kdr. III./KG 157 (to 30.04.39), then Kdr.
III./KG 27 (to 30.06.39) and Kdt. Fl.H.Kdtr. Delmenhorst.
18.08.40 Oberst, KIA in a Do 17 Z-2 (F1+HT) of 9./KG 76 shot down by AA fire and crashed vic Sunny Croft, Golf Road, Kenley.

Right rank, right branch (Kampfflieger), and there is a probable assignment gap between 30.06.39 and 18.08.40. Odds are about 9 : 1 that this is right one.

Manfred & Larry

Thank you very much indeed for your help with this!

After trawling through all the Luftwaffe Officer named 'Sommer' on the Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries, as you say Larry, surely this is indeed the right man:

Dr. Otto Sommer.

Thanks to all with their help with these signatures.

Regards Richard.

Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories

I had forgototen about this document containing the final signatures from this grouping which are still to be identified:

Kampffliegerlehrgang 'Oldenburg' from 1938.

Any help at all on either the Major und Kompaniechef or the Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance and a happy festive season to all.

Regards Richard.

Re: Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories

Hello Richard,
hard.
The documend was issued for Werner Schwarz, Obergefreiter.
I know not your question.
The name of the Oberstleutnant looks like "Simon".
The Mayor like "Hiller"
I'm sorry for much fantasie.

Best regards
Manfred

Re: Help with Fliegerschulen Signatories

Probably Obstlt. Fitzmartin SIMON, but there is no apparent fit for a HILLER.
