Re: Arnold Lignitz - KC holder in JG 51 / JG54

Hi Evgeny,

thank you for your attachments. We need to explain the scetch with the 2 russian airmen. On the right we see Leytenant I.D. Odintsov who blew Lignitz out of the sky using RS 84 missiles installed under the wings of his I-153.
Unfortunately I can't translate the other 2 documents, may be you can advise how I can use the google translator?
I have posted some images of the use of the RS 84 and working at present on the translation of an excerpt of Trautloft's diary dealing with the Lignitz loss.

Cheers
Horst

Interesting to read that Lignitz states during interrigation that the knights cross was personally awarded by the 'great' man himself Goering.

Doug,

Just an FYI, but the takeoff incident at Pecs involved WNr.6432, and photos reveal the 'Winkel-Dreieck' marking was white with a black outline (or perhaps, black-outline-only).

I wasn't sure if your (massive) bio work included details like Werknummern, etc. Many, many thank to you and Larry for all you have done, and continue to do.
