Re: Wreck of Graf Zeppelin found!

Has anyone data of how many aircraft there were planned to have onboard, 40 or more?

Re: Wreck of Graf Zeppelin found!

I think the GZ has a few too many holes for pingpong balls to be succesfull...

Regarding what happened to it... As far as I know, the Germans flooded it but the Russian recovered it, dragged it out to sea and shelled it till it sank. The photos above show the Soviet armaments testing on the GZ.

Some more GZ pics: http://www.geocities.com/tragerphoto/

PS. Here's a guy making a very detailed 3D model of the GZ. Quite awesome, check it out!

Re: Wreck of Graf Zeppelin found!

Hi. Yes probably damaged beyond repair. Has anybody sent down cameras and taken pictures? Thanks for these links to 3D; very intersting; any aircraft to be included on flight deck, when finished? What about any cargo - likely none at all?

The phrase "it's only a scratch" comes to mind!
