Re: Curtis Hawk 75's in French service.

Thanks Graham.
As for the H-751 (or H-75A-4), I intend to publish an article on this topic and I'm not keen on giving up my info on a board.

Thumbs up Re: Curtis Hawk 75's in French service.

Hello,

Chris, I quite agree that you might wish to keep it for now until your A-4 article is made public. No problem, please let us know when and how we may aquire a copy.

Many thanks

Alex

P.S
The link between the underwing numbers and a/c serial numbers .
What is the link between them ?
From what I have read it seems that the numbers differe by one in each case. Why was this ? Also did the numbers AlWAYS run concurrently ?

Thanks Again

Re: Curtis Hawk 75's in French service.

Alex,

Thanks for your understanding. Don't worry, I'll let you know.

U-001 is s/n 101
U-002 is n° 102
and so on...
It works the same way as the USAF buzz-numbers and had the same purpose: identify the bloody pilot who turned sour the cow milk in buzzing around the pastures.

Re: Curtis Hawk 75's in French service.

Hello,
From what you say Chris that would make the following

DS+NQ = No:24 = "X-821"
KQ+ZA = No:30 = "X-827"
Correct ?

But then would it also be true that
No:1 = 12798 = "X-800"
No:24 = 12821
No:30 = 12827
or did they not run concurrently ?

Thanks

Alex
