Re: Crashed JU52 "G6*CC" in May 1941 over Crete.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your help!
Today I found out that the G6+CC was shot down on 22.05.1941.

I am holding in my hands the recent copy of a greek aviation magazine in which a guy from Crete Mr.Stelios Tripalitakis show some relics he have found from the Ju-52 G6+CC. He found the exact position from the mountains in the backround. You can buy this magazine from the site www.periscopio.gr AEROPORIKI ISTORIA ( AVIATION HISTORY) ISSUE No51 February-March 2008.

Re: Crashed JU52 "G6*CC" in May 1941 over Crete.

Hello Tasos,

I'm glad to hear from you regarding the relics that were found in the Mt.Psiloritis. I have in fact 2 original photos of the plane beeing recovered late 1941 by german technicians.
I would be very interested in the magazine, but the link u sent be is of course in Greek. I can of course also ask some of my friends on Crete to buy this magazine.
Or could you send me some scans from the article ??

Regards,
Jagdkommando

Re: Crashed JU52 "G6*CC" in May 1941 over Crete.

According to my notes a Ju 52/3mg5e W.Nr. 7332 (St.kz. BV+OG) was lost in the mountains on Crete on 04.12.1941. It had unit code G6+CC and belonged to K.Gr.z.b.V. 102.

Nice pics but I can tell you one thing :
The greek guy has used my original photos from my earlier website. If u know him u can tell him from me, that he has removed the "copyright" on the pics. They all belong to me. I have the hole photalbum from this unit on Crete from 1941-42.

Re: Crashed JU52 "G6*CC" in May 1941 over Crete.

The pic in the greek magazine is indicating seaplanes is right with december 1941. There are no yellow balkan/crete campaign markings (tail rudders, engine cowlings etc.) visible, but insteed a yellow theatre band. These were introduced with barbarossa in june 1941.
KGrzbV102 served on the eastern front right from the beginn of barbarossa
and then was sent to Italy in late december 1941 for a short period only - before returning to the eastern front again.
