Re: eBay: Allied intrest

I also enjoy browsing through the links Ed posts.
If you don't like them, just don't bother reading the thread.
Over 90% of the threads on this forum are of absolutely no interest to me, so I don't open them - simple....

Re: eBay: Allied intrest

Andy, I respect you and your contributions here. But I think I’d be correct in saying the bulk of responses to the thread ebay Allied Interest are from Stig, Bertrand and yourself. How much more interesting could this thread be if people such as yourselves (but also others) were posting the links. You know whether a photo is interesting or not and would be in a position to post such photos rather than simply posting photos at random which sometimes meet the thread description. The end result being a higher quality board.

You are correct I could just ignore the posts by Ed West, but I’ve a desire to see improvement. As a fellow Englishman, though the same would apply, I think to posters of most nationalities here you can see we live in a failing state because the government (regardless of party) pretends to do its job, the media instead of addressing real issues fails to address them, both being products of a failing education system and the same failures are present through all hierarchically organised organisations in the country. A significant root cause of this is people not speaking out and thus the propagation of mass male cattle droppings in all areas of human activity. Well I can’t change these things, but I can speak out where I see pretence in areas where I am involved and I chose to do so here with regard to the quality of posted links to this thread . ‘No to mass male cattle droppings on TOCH.’

Regards,

Clint

Re: eBay: Allied intrest

Clint,
I entirely respect your right to an opinion.
But have you considered that Ed might not have either the time (or maybe the knowledge) to caption each link?
I wouldn't know how to start trawling Ebay for photos, and neither would I be able to caption them all, as I don't know enough about most of the subject matter. In addition, I wouldn't have the time or the inclination, as I spend enough time on various forums as it is.
To me, this format is an easy win. I get to see things of interest without having to do any work myself other than browsing the links.
There is little point in discussing this further, as we're clearly not going to agree.
However, as every other person who has commented has, like me, supported Ed, you can surely accept that you hold a minority view on this. Whether you continue to think "your view" is correct is entirely your right.
Andy

Well said Andy.

I agree with Clint’s point that this would be a stronger thread if we all posted into it but, like you, I do not have the time or the skills to do this for the benefit of a wider audience.

I quite like the lottery of never knowing quite what you will find here. I can confirm that posts in this thread and it’s equivalent in the Luftwaffe forum have led me to photos that I have subsequently added to my collection so I am very grateful to Ed and others who do make the effort to post here. Please carry on doing so.
