Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Nakajima Ki-49 of 2 Chutai 74 Sentai at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15457936570...gAAOSwAo1hIfZj Given that there is a colour illustration of the aircraft lifted from Eduardo Cea's Bombers of the Imperial Japanese Army 1939-1945 its possible that this photo has been seen before. The colour image is at at: https://warthunder.fandom.com/wiki/K...4th_sentai.jpg Regards, Clint |

Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hello,
Currently on ebay are the following photos of JAAF aircraft: Kawasaki Ki-102 https://www.ebay.com/itm/31367729283...UAAOSwEs9hQ8GJ Nakajima Ki-43 https://www.ebay.com/itm/31367729447...kAAOSw77BhQ8NU What is the unit shown here.I've seen Ki-43-II images of both the Akeno & Kamagawa Hikoshidan Hikotais where the tail band shows that the machine was flown in combat by instructors from the schools, but there appears to be no unit symbol on the rudder of this machine shown by the link,as is the case with the machines of the units mentioned? Nakajima Ki-84 https://www.ebay.com/itm/31367729584...sAAOSw5-phQ8Pq Regards, Clint Last edited by musec04; 17th September 2021 at 15:17. |

Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Nakajima Ki-27 (I think) at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/25528903170...oAAOSwgA1hvuiW It has the Hiragana character No (26) on top of the tailplane and the band on the rudder is not unlike that worn by Ki-27 of the Tokorozawa flying school. Can anyone say whether the aircraft does belong to that unit? Regards, Clint Last edited by musec04; 28th December 2021 at 10:58. |

Re: Photos Japanese Army Airforce
Hi Clint
My knowledge of Japanese is basically nil (perhaps even minus zero to be honest) Never bothered to understand the script. Can you explain to me what these inscriptions stood for (ie 'No' and 'Su')? Also wasn't the famous airfield in Japan called Tokorozawa? Cheers Stig |
