Re: UNIT HISTORIES

I have written about this. I cannot tell about other countries, but you would not find too many aviation books in Polish libraries, forget about Prien books etc. International interlibrary loan is AFAIR 25 to 50 USD per book, so not very cheap either. Considering time and money necessary to get to library if you live in a small village, the total cost may be real problem.

Re: UNIT HISTORIES

The main thing is that we are more and more coming in touch with generations thinking that Internet is the repository of all the knowledge for free and that nothing else is necessary...

This, added to the fact that reading is going "out of fashion", and that the will to spend time and real money to research is getting smaller and smaller, lead us to the many requests of "scans", infos, photographs and so on...

While sometimes it is only a matter of lazyness, in some other it may be a matter of culture (or lack of) or money (or lack of)...

The latter point probably is the more excusable. What is not is the fact of pretending to achieve something asking for material through the free efforts of others who have spent their time and money either researching or buying the books where the informations are... a bit more of honesty and declaring from the start what the real final purpose of the many requests is, maybe could help a bit...

IMHO, of course.

P.S. In principle, I share every word that Nick said, ça va sans dire...
