Thank you Matti for that posting. It of course explains a lot including my lack of understanding of these minefields, no doubt assisted by my deficiency of German. Like you I am always grateful for questioning and or correcting my conclusions and sources. I am still on a learning curve of military aviation over Neutral Ireland and my (only) basic knowledge of my computer can best be explained by the attachment. It says it all!

Thanks Chris, that gives me a good feeling to know that I am not the only one in this predicament.
The second picture in your attachment showing the identity is also in Bombers of the Luftwaffe 1933-1945 by de Zeng Stankey and Creek but the caption identifies it as a He III P. Schnellmeyer claims that the Heinkel in his picture is a H model.

Hi ChrisS , thanks for posting the photos of the He111 with the codes "1G+EK" . I am grateful for the trouble you have gone to in posting these photos. I have got two more photos last week showing "1G+EK" in flight which came from a German source .
Mr. Kearns , I have not ignored your request to post details on "1G+EK" , I simply will be not doing so until my book has been published , you will just have to be patience and wait just a little longer .
As for the spirit on this forum , I do not think I have done anything out of the way by not giving all my details on "1G+EK" , you must respect that I have spent years doing research for my book and now this work is almost complete . I have no doubt that I do not have all the facts but I have done my very best in researching the topic on hand here .
I would like to thank the people who sent me PM's on this forum and wished me well with my book .

Tony thanks for the 'heads up' on the second shot, I have the volume but had not 'clocked' that the image was there also. Yes, I concur it is a P variant.
