PS. I publicly protest, am able post "without problems" in Bf 109 thread but Ju 88 thread has technical problem in 5 out of 7 tries.
I too suffer from "stubbornness", but that has helped research the Ju 88 series....
Ah ah ah !

Re: ME 109 Rheims September 1944

Excuse. No insault intended. ;-) was intended as "joking Sign".
I am NOT watching Eurovision now, that may possibly be the reson... Find it BORING.
Are you insaulted becuse I suggested this be NJG machne?
Or are YOU "Bf 109" not expert, or do you disagree.
I can not figure this out from your answer.
Again I apologise.

Was it found on a website or is it from your collection ? Whatever, many thanks!

Cheers

Hello Marc,

it is originally from the web, I had it on an old hard drive and found it while searching for other images. Nice to know it is not common and happy to provide a small offering to the knowledgeable members here whose efforts I respect immensely.
regards
Bill

What the hell is the matter with you? Ed makes a simple comment about a paint scheme and you manage — God knows how — to extrapolate all that from it? Are you just trying to get a really interesting thread locked, or what?

I suggest you calm down before you post again.

Re: ME 109 Rheims September 1944

Unlike some people (Hi, Ferdinando!) I'm no good on the details of Bf 109 anatomy but isn't that a deeper than usual intake for a G-6 series, more like a G-10? Or would you expect this on an aircraft with the AS engine?

Re: ME 109 Rheims September 1944

In fact, Nick (hi!) to me it is mainly a matter of deductive reasoning: such deeper oil radiator had nothing to do with a normal DB 605A, and since none of the visual characteristics of the DB 605D are present (namely higher nose oil hatch round cover and either chin-bulges under the cowl or a completely modified Erla nose section... not to mention place and time of the finding), the DB 605AS simply had to be the culprit...

Of course with the Bf 109 nothing is ever so simple, but when it apparently is, why choose the more complicate way?
