Great! 2 guys which can't wait until some seconds before auction ends.
I hear Peter crying... An unknown emblem. I know that our "Storch"
collector goes wild when he wants a special photo but in this way?
I hope for him that he made no mistake with "," and "." as he bid...

Re: Ebay madness...

A Storch photo for over 1.000 bucks, isn't it fantastic or simply unsane?

At least, now I am convinced, that ebay and/or their participants must be mad!

Might be, we were born at wrong times, or that our father was not in a Fieseler Storch unit, to release us such treasures.

God may beware us from ebay and from their wishful futures. Ebay only smiles about that, hiding behind their homemade laws. Everything in ebay will go through, as long your article brings profit to them.

If you please them abd if it is like that, you can insert NAZI emblems and Hakenkreuze from the morning till the night...

But when you offer a for ebay less profitable article, you can bet on it: ebay will kick you out!

Re: Ebay madness...

Yes, I meant PP. I guess he was sure to win this photo!
Does anybody know something about this emblem? It looks
like a variation of an emblem or an unknown emblem of a
courier unit or a small staff...

Re: Ebay madness...

I posted the following reply there, John. Before I open a can of worms, let me just say that I'm pretty much an ill-informed outsider (but with strong interest in the subject and its research). But this is what it looks like to me. Dan is asking to be less ill-informed in this matter and I echo his request that went unanswered for months...

I think the main problem people have with Sudek is that he/it scoops up everything related to German WW2 military hardware, which then disappears in a big archive. Researchers of specific topics don't stand a chance against Sudek and are thereby hindered in their research. Don't tell me Sudek researches the history of each and every photo scooped off of Ebay! If they're accessible somewhere, great! But that does not seem to be the case, or else Dan would have gotten an answer.

Personally I would much rather see these photos scatter all over the world and thereby find their way to people who are genuinely interested in the content of these photos and actively researching their origins, than having them all plunked into one big mysterious archive where nobody will every see them again. Preserved for the future? What good is that if everybody that was interested in researching them and the people who were there are long dead and gone? Then a very rare aircraft picture becomes just another picture from WW2, as the history about it is gone, because individual researchers didn't have the chance to get to this photo thanks to Sudek.

If Sudek's photos are accessible, will somebody please stand up and tell us HOW? If that is really the case, we can all stop bidding and let Sudek create the biggest bestest German military hardware photo archive in the world - at minimal cost (no competition!!!) - and we all reap the benefits (including Sudek who can then buy everything cheaply). What a beautiful world that would be

And now you have to ask why only a small choosen group
of publishers have access to these masses of photos...
And what was the price or return for this service...
The ominous archive shouldn't be a charity organisation.
