Re: Bomber Aces with min. 500 combat missions list

Huh??
I thought it was simple too - if you don't want to contribute, don't post.
The contributors to this thread are not EXPECTING people to reply if they don't want to, so what is it with you guys who feel we are demanding answers.
Again, if you've got nothing to say, say nothing. Neither of your posts contributed anything even vaguely useful to the thread, so why did you bother to spend the time to post at all?
Just don't belittle other people's interests because yours are different.
I'm surprised the moderators allow such comments.
Peter

This board does not host personal spats, just polite discussions. Forgetting that is the way to get threads closed down.

Re: Bomber Aces with min. 500 combat missions list

Good morning,

Peter is totally right.
Nobody is forced to join in a thread he doesn't like.

Peter's endeavour to create a bomber aces ranking-by-missions is brilliant and fascinating. Bomber aces are overshadowed by fighter aces because the achievements of the latter can more easily be expressed in numbers. Peter's compilation can contribute to a rectification of that and I look forward to his future threads and posts.

Keep at it,

Michael

Didn't I just ask people to stop fighting? Please don't pour petrol on the fire, just talk about the original subject.

Re: Bomber Aces with min. 500 combat missions list

Good morning Andrew,

I have only a copy of the last page of Bätcher's flight log.
If you have more, would you be so kind to check after how many missions Bätcher switched from He 111 to Ar 234 ?

Cheers,

Michael

Re: Bomber Aces with min. 500 combat missions list

I have a career brief from Thurner's daughter somewhere & will have a look today. Sadly she loaned his FB to someone & it "went missing in the post". Sound familiar?

Re: Bomber Aces with min. 500 combat missions list

Good morning Peter and Chris, thanks very much for your replies this helps.
The first entry I can find in my records is on 12.7.40 in which he flew a number of
" Platzflug" in G1+ET at Villacoublay.

Chris, if you could find the report that would be most appreciated.
Shocking that his flugbuch maybe lost to our community!
Kindest regs,
Steve.
