Bf109K-4 at bad Aibling
Greetings,
I am researching the aircraft found at Bad Aibling in May, 1945. Everyone has seen the often published shot of the Bf109K-4 with a numeral “81” on its left rudder. As part of my research, I am trying to confirm several details of this aircraft: First, there is a possibility that this K-4 was fitted with a replacement fin from another plane. Does anyone have an additional view of this aircraft? If so, are there any traces of a Werknummer on the upper part of its fin? Second, I believe its actual WNr. was 33XX81. Can anyone confirm the first digit of the factory-applied last-three of its WNr. on its rear fuselage? Any assistance rendered will be greatly appreciated. Steve Sheflin |
