Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research
Hi JVM,
You are probably right that Gael was meant. And then it can't be a TGr 30 Heinkel in an Atlantic fortress. Pity. Perhaps sometime before that. Thank you for solving that little mystery. Hans |

No... the ones with the Schräge Musik at NJG 100 that flew same time as the Fw 189 NF.

Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research
What about that mythic colour picture of the III/JG2 black 6+I Fw190D with Ta152 tail Wnr. 600545...
Should have appear in a documentary about the Hitlerjugend on the Belgian Televison Should have been published in a 3 volume work, covering Kriegsmarine, Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe and having at least one colour section What about some clear and better pictures of Karoband Bf109s, Fw190A (I know, one exist) or D, What about pictures of Fw190D from JG6 with the red/white/red bands (I concur with John's grail here) ...

Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research
To Mysticpuma, re Ju 88G-7.
Thank you for trying, but those are both a mis-identified Ju 88G-6. So are all published photos captioned as Ju 88G-7 until a wonderfully clear image was found on ebay about a year ago. I have 'cleaned up' the photo in photoshop.Attachment 13348 Note the large round air scoop and smaller radiator of a Jumo 213E. Attatched thumbnail is a copy of the original ebay photo. Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research
So, is this new? No proven. Sorry. There were G-7 prototypes, and this has not been proven be production G-7, as it could be one of them prototypes or (first(s)) of pre-series converted from stock G-6. Only engines & props (and radar) AND one more detail (!) made the small difference from G-6 to G-7.
Too many loose ends. But I have pointed out this many times before: mr. sirbob should write it correctly ("Ju 88 G-7" against "Ju 88G-7") -Ed |

Re: What is the "Holy Grail" of Luftwaffe Research
Is it just a myth that the G-7 had the Ju 188 tail assembly (as stated many years ago by Gebhard Aders)?
