Thanks for great work as always. Just a note since you saved this pic as 'Bf 109' - it's actually an Fw 190. Given the location on the photo's back provided as Straubing and the specific markings (black 10+I without any outline), it's likely an F variant from the 8. Staffel of an SG belonging to the Luftflotte 4. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
For some reason I'm getting an error report while trying to upload these photos.
Several photos in an album from a GI, Ju 88, Bf 109 and others: https://www.ebay.de/itm/374536737422?hash=item573421128e:g JUAAOSwIDNj~PP I&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkJZp5uxoOlgFdImv6cj%2BDGirq GUClRIT3wPGehrI7gJ%2FyhGFDQsi4xPaKCMM454yU5gcdqqOa kMrdxmnt6M9tRfoe1eH4tvDjMv8QFEKgiBvqjvJ7iLwowazoLO Ww%2BaBm7I3M5X0Gv5hsANKtAsrWlcP1NcTRdZKDfXgUZUk%2F sY0Omvq4yhpZpkNB4K3BWd3oA%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5TLjc zSYQ

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hello Rudi,
Unless I am mistaken, your Post #5574 is the oft-photographed, AGO-built, Fw190A-8, WNr. 737938. Marked 9+ blue, it last served with 4./JG301, and featured that units 2xred/yellow RV bands. Rare for a late-war fighter, it sported the name “Steppke” and a “Starke Mann” crest on its left cockpit side. My identification of this aircraft is confirmed by the He111 fuselage hulk to its left side. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
