Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
I'd guess that the Hs 129 in post #5651 was the one found at Frankfurt Rhein-Main. The tress look very similar to thoe in photos of Fw 190 F-8 A3+18 which was also found there.
As for the Ar 234 in post #5660, I'd really like to know where that one was! |

Hi Nick,
This was previously posted by Rudi. I am jumping to the conclusion that it is the same aircraft. http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/album....pictureid=1272 http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/album....pictureid=1273 best regards, Jim |

Nick,
At the risk of being overly simplistic but at the end of the war, some landings were just landings of opportunity. |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Hi Nick,
I think that I have found another picture of this aircraft with the ridge in the background. If so, to my eye the werknummer seems to be 140108 which turns out to be a Rechlin-based test Arado that was sent to Neuburg am Donau to be used as a two-seat aircraft carrying an observer to the viability of the deichselschlepp (rigid-pole method of towing) of the SG 5041. It was tested there in February and March 1945 by pilot Herr Erich Klockner. http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/album....pictureid=1274 However, this is what it should look like: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/album....pictureid=1275 Jim Last edited by Karoband; 1st May 2023 at 23:39. |
