Re: Forthcoming books from Chris Shores
I am not sure what to say at this point. Chris continues to write, and go to the NA/PRO when he accumulates sufficient questions to research. Giovanni continues to write, and research at the Italian AF archives. I continue to write, and go to the National Archives in College Park monthly. Winfried and Russell write and research, fitting that in around their jobs and other research.
When will it be done? It will be done when we decide that we have finished reviewing all the evidence we are aware of. The hope is to turn in the finished manuscript in the Spring. And immediately start work on Volume 3 (Torch to mid-May 1943), while also captioning pictures and preparing the index to Volume 2. Just another book to wait for, like volume 6 of George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire, Patrick Rothfuss' volume 3 of The Kingkiller Chronicles, and volume 4b of Donald Knuth's Art of Computer Programming. Easy ys myne boke to rede and telleth of moche fyte But then your easy rede is damned hard to wryte. ----Sir William Napier Frank.

Frank
While I enjoy a book of fantasy now and then, I must say that Vol 2 of the Med Air War is much more anticipated by me than Knuth's Art of Computer Programming, and that goes regardless of volume.... ![]() Perhaps my taste of Art is not subtle enough.... ![]() Cheers Stig |

Re: Forthcoming books from Chris Shores
Stig,
I would anticipate that the Med Air War team will get volumes 2 and 3 published before Knuth gets his volume 4B published. Those two will also probably be published before Martin's sixth volume of Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones for those who only know the HBO series), and Rothfuss' third and final volume (he swears!) of Kingkiller Chronicles. But none of us are in a race; all of these books will be published when their author's decide that they are completed to their satisfaction. Chris is as adament that MAW will be done right as are George, Pat, and Don with respect to their books. And thank you for your very kind words. Enjoy! Frank.
