Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Marc
'Your' Fw 190 looks like an early model (A-2/A-3) and the only WNr I can find which fits is 5310. Cheers Stig |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
The bird 5310 was used by JGr. West and made 45% on 13.04.1943 (reported as A-3). On 27.05.1943 was at AGO FRW Villacoublay (reported as A-2).
Before that it was with Stab III./JG 26 Black <<+I "Jutta". Regards Dirk |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

The first Bf 109 is a nagging issue: this Erla produced Bf 109 G-6 "Schwarzer Winkel kleine 2" - probably from Stab II./JG 53, was at first thought to have been found at Comiso, in July 1943. Though no definitive evidence has arisen since, there is a distinct possibility this machine was found at La Marsa, in May 1943. The second - burnt out - Bf 109 is a G-10 as ascertained by the remains of the D/F loop and the full circle oil tank behind the spinner base. I have no clue as to which Munich airfield the caption refers. The third Bf 109 is WNF built Bf 109 G-14 W.Nr. 511 500, "Weisse 10", piloted by Uffz. Willi Smelka, 9./JG 52, which crash landed near Oppeln, 27 January 1945. Cheers Marc |
