Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source

Hi there Gang,

We have a string of new Bf 109 G-6 pics here:

Beyond saying the basics (Bf 109 G-6/R6 with a tall antenna mast) which allows to date those pics from the Summer of 1943, no clear evidence for the unit.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/280920...n/photostream/

This one comes a bit better off: probably "Schwarze 5" from 5./JG ? Any ideas about location and unit ?
https://www.flickr.com/photos/280920...n/photostream/

The last one is more of a Sütterlin reading issue: a Mtt-Regensburg built Bf 109 G-6 which tactical number "Grüne 674" does ring a bell for 6./JG 104. If not totally mistaken, this pic might have been taken at Roth in July 1944 (According to caption).

Any precision would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Marc

Re: Late war Bf 109 pictures source

Hi there Gang,

We have for a change two new pictures of a WNF built Bf 109 G-14 which W.Nr. 510xxx is probably legible on the original on sale here:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Jagdflugzeug-...MAAOSwfVpYnEM5

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Jagdflugzeug-...kAAOSwOgdYnEM8

The scene speaks for one of the pine forests near Berlin and clothing of the Staffel members does set the period in September - October 1944.

Any ideas about location and unit ?

Cheers
Marc

And now a question about Bf 109 G-8 W.Nr. 201 765, currently offered on sale at eBay:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/137-Orig-Foto...wAAOSwWxNYyuDy

This picture is a known Signal Corps photo, from the James Crow collection, and already published by Janowicz in 2007.

Unit and location are unknown, Western Front, late 1944 or early 1945. I suspect a 2./NAGr. 13 machine; any confirmation possible ?

Cheers
Marc

Hi,

I wonder if it wasn't one among the many JG53 machines got by JG300 ...

Cheers, Franck.

At long last a new Erla built Bf 109 G-10 shows up:

The dilapidated dark RVB band could point towards a JG 27 machine. Any other information would be highly appreciated.

Cheers

Sorry Marc, but not a G-10; and not new, either.

I knew I recognized that FW 190 wing from somewhere.

Interesting to note the difference in deterioration in both photographs.

And from your Flickr:

"G-14 'Gelbe 4' 3./JG 27, Salzburg-Maxglan, 1945"
