Self-publishing and military book distributors?

Sometimes in the future, I am planning to publish myself a couple of aviation books (in English).
As I understood, I need to find book distributor(s) that would take over the printed stock and distribute them to wholesalers, which would then distribute the books further to retailers.
Did anyone of you self published, then distributed recently his/her aviation related book?
Can anyone give me hints who are such military book distributors, with potential interest in WW 2 related aviation books?
Thanks, in advance, for your inputs.

Dénes,

May I ask where you plan to have your books printed?

Re: Self-publishing and military book distributors?

Not so much an aviation book, but we had my mother's memoirs privately published using Blurb.

http://www.blurb.ca/

I can say their printing is high quality, their photo reproduction is excellent, including paper and binding quality. The price for 30 copies for family was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Although I did not use it, they also have an option to sell and distribute through Blurb, Amazon, Ingram, Apple iBook Store and Kickstarter.

Re: Self-publishing and military book distributors?

Hello,

Whilst I have no experience of having had a book published by this organization, I can vouch for the quality, distribution and prices of their products. Check out the site:

https://www.lulu.com

I suggest you have a chat with Peter Kassak (a member of TOCH). One of his books, 'Gardening by Midnight' (co-authored with David Gunby), was recently handled by Lulu.

Both above suggestions seem to point to organizations using digiprinters. Just recently I returned a book and demanded my money back on discovering it was digiprinted sierra-hotel-india-tango.

Re: Self-publishing and military book distributors?

Thanks for the inputs. Much appreciated.
Just to be clear, I intend to self-publish, i.e., self-print (Jukka, not with digiprint, as printing quality is paramount) the books by a quality printing house, under my own name, own "publisher". The problem I have is how to distribute the hundreds of books throughout the world once the books are in my garage. That's why I am looking for a militaria book distributor, who would take over these hundreds of books, then distribute them to wholesalers, who would then distribute them to retailers (i.e., bookstores, web commerce, like Amazon, etc.).
Thanks, again, for your further inputs and comments.

Re: Self-publishing and military book distributors?

Perhaps your fellow countryman Peter Barnaky of PeKo Publishing can help?

Re: Self-publishing and military book distributors?

I've already approached Casemate. Waiting for their reply.
Is there any other militaria book distributor you're familiar with?

As for PeKo, also from Hungary, I've already contacted "Ko", who gave me some good input.
However, I feel they might regard me as a (would be) competitor, so...
