F/L O. Lloyd-Davis, 100 Squadron RAF

I have seen from a number of sources, Lancaster III, PB532, "Santa Azucar", regularly flown by F/L O. Lloyd-Davies, 100 Squadron, during 1944-1945. F/L Davies was noted as being from South America.

Does anyone know what country this was ?

Thanks Alex - what I'm really after though is what county, from South America, that he was from.

From his initial service number 1542914 he enlisted in the UK between June 1940 and February 1941.
Where does the South American source come from ?
PB532 was originally with 550 Squadron.

Santa azúcar means literally holy sugar, I guess a play on 'S-Sugar'. I would say he was born in Argentina

Re: F/L O. Lloyd-Davis, 100 Squadron RAF

Agreed Leendert,
Lt. John Owen Lloyd Davies, DFC.
Your link suggests that he was from Chile.
Rich, I would agree about the "S" for Sugar link you make.

However P/O. O L Davies in RAF Air Force Lists [1942 (w) 25th September].
Suppose that it could be the same man but why drop the first Christion name ?
