The article says all of the crew of Uffz Kurt Werner were killed in 8A+GL however I read that Werner and two of his crew died and two survived . The only confirmation I found on the Grabsuche site was the death of Bs Gef Willi Hermann Nau , and a previous post saying Uffz Kurt Werner was killed.

Re: The Air Battle over Mykonos island: 27 January 1944, hell over the Aegean

Rudiger, thanks for this info. which clears up my query on the Werner crew. Regarding the coding of 8A+GJ for the Sellhorn-Timm crew would this not indicate an aircraft of SeeTrpSt.1 a previous post said 'J' was used initially before being replaced by the usual 'H' for this Staffel. Referring to the third aircraft a couple of sources indicated it was flown by Ofw.Cremer and another post quotes an Ultra intercept as saying '11 men from 8A+DL have remained behind on Mykonos ' indicating Cremer was from SeeTrpSt.3

Regards
Brian Bines
