Re: Photo Phönix Aircraft

Stig,

Thanks for the heads up. They have indeed either been sold or pulled.A crashed Caproni photo that was posted around about the same time is still there but the Phönix are gone.

Clint

Re: Photo Phönix Aircraft

Hi Stig,

The photo quality was variable, but interesting I thought because of the unit markings. It would be nice to think that either Zoltan Czirok or Jack Herris was the successful buyer and they appear in the next volume of Aeronaut's Austro-Hungarian Fighter Units of WWI. Fingers crossed.

Clint

Re: Photo Phönix Aircraft

Hi Clint

May I ask what unit histories?
I admit my finances have not been able to cope with the Aeronaut's output and I am way behind.

Last time I looked at Herris home page there were already books on Amazon which he didn't list
on his own site....

Cheers
Stig

Re: Photo Phönix Aircraft

Hi Stig,

You can see the first volume in the series here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Austro-Hung...s%2C544&sr=8-1

As you'll note much easier on the pocket than some Aeronaut publications. I found this volume useful as it has tables for known aircraft serials for the machines used by each of the Fliks, also the usual profiles, photos and text (more of the latter than in many of the volumes dealing with German aircraft).

A future volume including Flik 63/J would be very welcome from both a pictorial and an informational point of view. But what would be really great is volumes covering the non fighter Fliks.

Regards,

Clint
