Luftwaffe Archives Group (LWAG) website back on-line

Dear Fellow Luftwaffe Researchers,

The LWAG site went off-line on June 1st due to corruption of the site on the host server. Restoration of the site took place on June 3rd, but, unfortunately, restoration had to be made from a May 8th back-up, as the May 28th back-up had also been corrupted. This is the second loss to the site this year, the last one being a 4-day loss of data in February.

This is unacceptable to me and I am sure it is to the membership. I am now in direct communication with the ceo of the hosting company to find the best way to insure that the possibility of such a long period of loss, let alone any loss, is minimized in the future.

We also lost 3 new members, whom I hope will understand the situation and re-register.

On the plus side, the bulk of the LWAG finding aides remain intact, with only those few helps posted after May 8th having been lost.

I regret these losses and any inconvenience this may have caused to those who have come to rely on LWAG for its many resources.

Regards,
Richard
