Adolf Kalkum,JG53
Gentlemen,
I was looking at Kracker Luftwaffe Archives for a German fighter pilot named Adolf Kalkum. The score of this fighter pilot says it was 19 in total. However it was noted that the score of air to air kills for Kalkum was much higher at 57! So what is the scoop of this total difference? Sincerely, Edward L. Hsiao |

Re: Adolf Kalkum,JG53
Hi Edward
I can confirm the total is nineteen. All scored between 3rd June 1940 and 27th August 1941 . He was born on 20th September 1915. Finished his training with 3./JFS Merseburg. Don't know why he ceased combat, but later flew with 3./JGr.Sud and JG 108.....presumable as an instructor. Ended the war with SG 101. He survived the war, and died on 27th February 1955. He certainly made no claims between 27th August 1941 and December 1944. Kind Regards Johannes |
