14th FG Losses on July 14,1944

This is a meandering thread, but here goes. In the book "Hungarian caes of WWII" by Gyorgy Punka, there are two pictures of a crash landed P-38J, S/n 42-104085 of the 14th FG. According to my MACR list this was one of five P-38s lost by the 14th FG on July 14th,1944. In the book, the P-38 is identified as having crash landed on two dates, both wrong. One is July 16th and the other is August 22.
Does anyone know the causes for the 14th FG casualties? According to the book, one Hungarian Lt. shot down two P-38s on this date.

The 14th FG had five total loss on that engagement vs 8 German and 2 (total 10) Hungarian claims. From the German side, the I./JG 302, II./JG 27, II./ZG 1 and III./ZG 26 claimed the planes.
I approx know, who shot down who really, but just approximately (the busy dogfights are always problematic).

Regarding that book check the books and magazines topic, I wrote some notes about that.

Thanks Csaba!

I have a fair amount of 15th AF literature, but could not find much about this particular mission. I think "Hungarian Aces" is a worthy addition to my library, but just like any publication, one has to check the veracity of the text.
