Luftwaffe losses Aegean September 1943

Hi guys

I am seeking further information regarding the following Luftwaffe losses in the Aegean in September 1943: identity and fate of crews, confirmation of markings etc.

Revised list

10/9/43 He111 shot down near Kos (or Ju88?)
17/9/43 Ju52 (presumably T4)
18/9/43 Ju88 Aufkl
19/9/43 Ju88 K5+LL Einsatz/KG Chef AW (Fw Paul Epp and crew)

Cheers
Brian

Re: Luftwaffe losses Aegean September 1943

Hi Brian,

I am going to visit Kos on May 22nd for a day. I just wanna see around and talk to the fishermen (if they are around) to ask for the aircraft wrecks. All I know is that a Turkish fisherman surfaced a wing section in early 2000's from the strait between Kos and Turgutreis. Let me know what I can do more for you there.

Good night,

batur

Re: Luftwaffe losses Aegean September 1943

When I lived on Rhodes the local fishermen told me that a JU52 was in the water off the south end of the island.
