Missing crew Ju 88 of 5/LG1

I am looking for any record of the crew of a Ju 88 of 5/LG1, shot down at the Jumps, West Tisted, Hampshire

5.30pm. on Aug. 15th 1940.

Fw H Pauck
> Uffz K Glitzner
> Fw D Rugge
> Uffz E Woldt

The aircraft was obliterated in the crash, and I have pics of the wreckage. It is said that the remains of the crew were thrown in a small trench near a water trough.

I think I have found that area near the hedgerow, and the farmer may well give permission to investigate further.

Before that happens, I would like to see if there may be relatives still contactable in Germany, and also , if there is any official notice of the loss of the aircraft on that day.

My final intention is to raise a memorial nearby, so that these men will be remembered.

Hope someone will help me start the ball rolling.

(Pics. of wreckage on the day, and the suspected hedgerow where the remains of the crew are buried.)

P

Fw Herbert Pauck (62733/8) born Hamburg 2 Apr 13
Uffz Kurt Glitzner (62733/2) born 12 Feb 14 in Raschau
Fw Dieter Rogge (62733/33) born 12 May 17 in Saarbrücken
Uffz Erich Woldt (62733/59) born 27 Dec 14 in Zieher

Interesting that all are reported as killed not missing. I would doubt whether you would get any luck with Pauck's family coming from Hamburg.
Again, it is safe to assume that this crash is Pauck's after what you found when digging it many years ago namely rank tabs of an Uffz (?). There were no Uffz in the other missing 6/LG 1 plane (Fw Felix Siegmund) as the crew was Fw, LtzS, Ogefr & Gefr
