Soviet 7th Air Army

Hello,

I am looking for the units that made up the 7th Air Army during the summer offensive against Finland in 1944. I know the 13th Air Army had the following units:

113th Bomber Aviation Division - MGen M. V. Shcherbakov
276th Bomber Aviation Division - MGen A. P. Andreev
277th Assault Aviation Division - Col F. S. Khatminsky
281st Assault Aviation Division - Col S. E. Greskov
275th Fighter Aviation Division - Col A. A. Matveev
13th Recon Aviation Regiment
203rd Corrective-Recon Aviation Regt
283rd Fighter Aviation Regt
212th Medical Aviation Regiment
199th Seperate Aviation Supply Regt

I was hoping to find out the same data for the 7th Air Army.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Soviet 7th Air Army

I'm not a specialist but IIRC 281st Assault Aviation Division was transferred from 14 VA to 13 VA in May 1944 and yes, VVS-KBF participated to the offensive against Finland.

Re: Soviet 7th Air Army

According to the BSSA (red army order of battle); 281 Assault division appears under the 13th air army in july 1944. It is listed under the 14th air army in june 1944

I Hope this helps.

Re: Soviet 7th Air Army

"
II Gv.IAK:
11 Gv.IAP
27 Gv.IAP
102 Gv.IAP
401 IAP

"
--> in Januar 1944: 11, 26,27,102,103GIAP were organized in 7IAK / PVO. Was this renamed to Guards IAK?
BTW: 1'44 7IAK had 119 A/C = 19 La5, 19 Yak-7, 5 Spitfire, 21 P-40, 23 Hurricane (!), 18 P-40, 14 Yak-1.

Means "II GvIAK" = "11" or "roman 2"?

Re: Soviet 7th Air Army

II GIAK means 2nd GIAK (roman numeral '2') 7 IAK-PVO became 2 GIAK-PVO on 7/7/43 according to the site below:
