Douglas B-32 Determinator 42-108544 28 Aug 1945
The Douglas B-32 Determinator saw brief action in the last days of the Pacific War with 386th BS/312th BG.
On 28 Aug 1945 there were two serious accidents, with 15 men KIA in total, 2 of whom in 42-108528 (Murphy, Morgan). Names of KIA in 42-108544 (aborted take-off on Okinawa) are harder to come by. Of these 13 I have found 8 so far: Lt Leonard M. Sill (P) Lt Glen W. Bowie (CP) Lt Kenneth C. Maule (gunnery officer) Lt William H. Colley S/Sgt Max E. Holben Sgt. Raymond A. Repp Capt Woodrow H. Hauser (ground/intel officer) Capt William P. Barnes, III (ground/communications officer) Any help with the remaining five names appreciated, thanks. PS No MACR (fate of crew known) or accident report (operational mission). Regards, Leendert |
