Erich Hartmann victory on 15Apr43

On the www.airforce.ru I read part of a translation of an article on "Early Cobra's in Soviet Aviation" which was from a book "Airacobras enter Combat" by Valeny Romanenko. He listed Erich Hartmann as one of the victors over a Airacobra of the 45 IAP (later 100 GIAP) on 15Apr43 in Kuban at approx. 19:00. Hartman shot down a Airacobra at 15:33 at 85 192. The 19:00 is probably the end time for the mission but does anyone know who was with him to claim the other Airacobra. He lists the pilots as St. Lt. M. Petrov and Serz. Bezbabnov which I assume were KIA. They were in Airacobra's 41-38451 and 42-4606. He also lists two other Airacobra's of the 45 IAP shot down that day at 13:00 (again I assume the mission end time.) as D. Glinka and V. Sapyan. Tony Wood's list doesn't have the other Airacobra listed for the time of Hartmann's victory.

Lt Mato Dukovac of 15.(Kroat.)/JG 52 claimed an Airacobra during a "Freie Jagd" in area Krimskaya - Abinskaya. He took off from Taman airfield at 14.50 with Ofw Viktor Mihelcic.

Re: Erich Hartmann victory on 15Apr43

The most probable would be Josef Zwernemann (also from III/JG52, 9.Staffel). But his claim was at 5000m, Hartmanns at 200 only...

The only thing with Zwernemann's claim it was at 12:52 in 85 753. Lt Wolf Ettel 4/JG3 shot down a P-39 at 15:30 in 86 834. Fw. Hans Reiff 8/JG3 shot down a Airacobra at 14:48 3Km SE of Neledshskaya. Lt Helmut Haberda 5/JG52 shot down a Airacobra at 85 152 at unk hr (Tony Woods List). Zwernemann's could have been one of the earlier P-39's shot down. It would have helped if the author had given the complete mission times he made his finding on.
