JG 27 victories in Russia
I believe that I did a thread called “JG 27 victories” but can’t seem to locate it, so here is another one. Some of these came from the articles by Mikhail Timin and some other Russian sources. I did not add the ones yet that involved JG 27 and other units except in one case.

2 Sep 1941
Oblt. Erbo Graf von Kageneck 9/JG 27 I-16 (53) 07:53 east of Ivanovskoye Two I-16 from the 44 IAP were assigned to patrol in the area of Mga but became involved in an air battle. From this battle was listed Ml. Lt. Nikolay Efremov as KIA. (Source documents from the Soviet 7 IAK). Other claims from I-16s were made later in the day. |

Re: JG 27 victories in Russia
3 September 1941
On looking at the documents for the Soviet 7 IAK and the losses of the VVS KBF for this day there is some gaps that leave things unclear. Oblt. Erbo Graf von Kageneck 9/JG 27 I-18 (54) 05:28 SW of Vassikovo Maj. Bernhard Woldenga Stab/JG 27 I-18 (2) 09:22 Markovo Nothing could be found to link to a Soviet loss but there was a LaGG-3 from the 19 IAP listed as MIA but no times and no circumstances. Oblt. Erbo Graf von Kageneck 9/JG 27 I-16 (55) 09:57 SE of Slutsk (this is in the Kolpino area). This can be explained. I-16 157 IAP St. Lt. Agapov was on a reconnaissance mission with 2 other I-16 to the airfield to the west of Krasnogvardeysk. They were intercepted by 4 Bf 109 leaving and involved in a dogfight at 1800 m. St. Lt. Agapov was wounded and shot down but still evaded and later returned to his unit. |

Re: JG 27 victories in Russia
10 August 1941
The Soviet 4 SAD sent bombers of the 63 SBAP to bomb German firces at Mikaylovskoe. There were two reported losses to German fighters. SB 63 SBAP St. Lt. Vasiliy Volodin and crew - KIA SB 63 SBAP St. Lt. Aleksey Pobornov and crew -KIA Oblt. Erbo Graf von Kageneck 9/JG 27 SB-3 (38) 19:51 north of Golino Fw. Ernst Riepe o/JG 27 SB-3 (5) 19:52 east of Golino (this is at the southwest corner of Lake Il’men and Mikaylovskoe is to the northwest of Golino) Haven’t been looking for Erbo Graf von Kageneck’s victories but they have been “popping up” in my research for JG 54 for 1941.
