Identification aircraft part, probably B-26
Dear all,
Last winter a part of a leading edge washed ashore onto the beach in Holland. The size is about 1 metres and quite distinctive as it includes landing light bay and de-icing boot. It appears to be of US origin as it has purple stamps in it and stainless steel screws. The part resembles the leading edge of a B-26 Marauder, however, different wings with and without de-icing boots were used on various subtypes. I wonder if anybody can identify this part and/or point out whether this matches with the kind of wings/leading edges used on the B-26B-4-MA subtype? Thanks in advance for your effort, Hans Last edited by John Beaman; 30th March 2014 at 15:18. Reason: spelling error |
