Re: Ju-88 G-1 lost 6/7 august 1944
Hi Ed,
As usual, thanks for the great information. If only for accuracy, I believe the correct Motornummer for the Ju 88 G-1 loss in question is: 327164. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |

"Based at Coulumier"
I'd guess that should be Coulommiers. |

Re: Ju-88 G-1 lost 6/7 august 1944
Theo and others
The french magazine Normandie 1944 n°25 For those who can not get the magazine:I summarize. In the night of 6/7 august 1944,about fifteen inhabitants and refugees were awakened around mindnight (french time)by the fall of a bomber on two PANTHERS (SS-PANZER 1). on their return from exodus, they found the calcined body of one of the crew members. Excavations carried out in 2000 revealed pieces of Ju-88 (armored pilot seat) in the middle of pieces of PANTHER. My question:Who shot down a Ju-88 in the region? Michel |
