Son of a Gun

I am looking to make contact with Mr. Manrho, as he was instrumental in locating a family in the Netherlands where my father was shot down on a mission to Bremsn Germany. I am trying to reach out to the family(NOK)and connect 75 years later.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Re: Son of a Gun

John,

Thanks for reaching out. My father was Staff Sgt. Francis J.Ferrick. He was shot down over Ommen, Netherlands where he was rescued by a family by the name of Schottert, Marsdyk 7, Beerze, 7736 Pl Ommen(OV) Holland, tel.05235-310.

I having difficulty locating any next of kin or locating this exact location. I do have a letter from you trying to identify my father in a crew photo. It may not have been necessarily a reference to this family.

I am from Holliston, Massachusetts

Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. I am trying to make connections and journey alone his path, if possible

My father served out the rest of the war in Stalag 17b

Thank you,

Greg

Re: Son of a Gun

Hi Greg,

Yes, I remember the contact. I have all the files on this crew still somewhere, need to dig it out. The crashsite and the address of the Dutch family is only some 15 miles form my home. Not sure if you, as a new member, already can send private messages (PM's)....it is on the board on the right hand top side.

I do not want to list my email address here.

Kind regards,

John
