Mosquito pilot.
Hi Guys.
Does anybody have a name Hinton Gilham on their RAF database?? He was a night-fighter mosquito pilot. Shot down over the North Sea when his Navigator was lost and he was picked up by a Norwegian fishing vessel. No other gen Was told this by him 1977. Only got hold of his name last night again. Thx Stefaan

Re: Mosquito pilot.
Stefaan,
Any info about date? Unrelated to your question, but his name appears in following site as a 'Seafire pilot': http://www.ruudleeuw.com/dc3-n5000e.htm Regards, Leendert |

Re: Mosquito pilot.
Hi.
Might be the same guy. I was told he was a FAA pilot by someone who flew with him a few minutes ago. Don't know how often FAA pilots crossed over to RAF night fighters. The time I flew with him was July 1977. He was flying a Cessna Citation ZS-CSS for the mining companies. May be Concor, Murray & Roberts or Gencor. Not sure who owned the a/c, was a student at the time. Thanks for this info. Stefaan

Re: Mosquito pilot.
And to confuse (?) matters, the LG of 13 May 1952 speaks of (a) RAF Pilot Officer Frederick Hinton Gillham (502313), amended to Hinton Frederick Gillham in the 17 June 1952 issue.

Re: Mosquito pilot.
Hi Guys.
thx for the info. If the chap was flying Mosquitoes as a night fighter I am sure it could not be the FAA chap, as that time was real busy for night fighters. Must be more the chap in the RAF mentioned in 1952. Stefaan
