Avro Anson Delivery to 311 (Czech) Squadron
Hi,
Trying to identify the Avro Anson aircraft used by No.311 (Czech) Squadron for training purposes in 1940/41. I don't have a copy of the excellent Anson file and I only have the Form78 K471-N9613 serial range. I believe, the Anson used were in the R series. Any help appreciated. Steve

Re: Avro Anson Delivery to 311 (Czech) Squadron
Hello,
No 311 Squadron used Wellingtons coded KX since VII.1940 at Honington 29.07.40-16.09.40 and East Wretham 16.09.40.-28.04.42. Transferred to Coastal Command and sqn codes were soon dropped. Known Anson Is used by 311 Sqn: K6296 Crashed, Honington, 1.4.41. R9600 To SAAF 10.8.41. R9648 To 27 OTU. R9649 Crashed Warmington, Northants 1.10.40. Later 311 Sqn's aircraft (Liberator V/VI/VIII) were coded PP. Some Ansons were coded PP, but were flown by 71 Sqn RAAF in Australia. Zoran |
