He111 crew plate identification

Hi to all,

this plate was found on a He111 crash site,

This He111 was carrying torpedoes (He111 H11 ?) and crashed in South Corsica;

can you help identify the crew and the aircraft ?

Thanks

Gilles

Re: He111 crew plate identification

This dogtag belonged to Bernhard Zimmermann.

Obviously you have found the following:
1944-02-12, 2./KG 26, He 111 H-11LT, 8402, 1H+AK, Mittelmeer
Flugzeugführer Ofw Zimmermann, Bernhard, vermißt
Kampfbeobachter Hptm Leicht, August, vermißt
Bordfunker Fw Behrend, Alfred, vermißt
Bordmechaniker Ofw Weyhrauch, Karl, vermißt
Unbekannt. Bruch 100 %.

You should now immediately contact WASt in Berlin, because that is the institution, which legally can identify missing persons, declare them dead and contact possibly living relatives.

Re: He111 crew plate identification

I have the same WNr. 8402 as being damaged 90% on 1943-10-21 at Salon. Any additional thoughts on that?

Regards,
Norbert
