111 Squadron and the fight at "Le Sphinx"
I have just read two accounts of this...altercation. One is by Thorstein Jonsson, (recounted in "Dancing in the skies") the other by Tony Bartley in "Smoke Trails in the Sky". The only details that seem to correspond are the account of the Lesbian act being performed for the audience. Jonsson states that a drunken pilot (who was killed later) joined in, while Bartley recounts a fight with doormen armed with switchblades after Chris LeRoux stubbed out his cigarette on one of the ladies bottoms! In the former account there appear to be several of the squadron there, in the latter just Bartley, CP "Paddy" Green and Le Roux, and that this encounter led Bartley to request Le Roux for 111 Squadron.
Does anyone else have information on this event? regards Keith |

Re: 111 Squadron and the fight at "Le Sphinx"
Just to clarify...apparently 111 Squadron returned, inebriated in March 1943 and this is the event described by Jonny Jonssen in "Dancing in the Skies" rather than the event with Chris Le Roux, Tony Bartley and Paddy Green wrtitten in "Smoke Trails in the Sky". No flick knives!
