Re: He 219 found in Denmark !!!
Are there still any remains on the seabed or did they really pick up everything they could find?
The Austrian buyer, is that a museum or a private collector? |

Re: He 219 found in Denmark !!!
If it went to Austria...then it is BAD news. There is only one major "restoration" company there, and they are the worst on the planet. Hopefully it went to a private collector instead...

Re: He 219 found in Denmark !!!
Hello Martin,
The news I am hoping for, is that someone is willing to have a closer look at possible markings which could help to identify the identity of this He219. Grüss Gott, Marcel

Re: He 219 found in Denmark !!!
Recently I learned, that before the sale, some stole one of the wings. It has not been found.

Re: He 219 found in Denmark !!!
Hello Jörn,
That's terrible news, especially after all the efforts to salvage the remains of this rare bird. One wonders why the remnants have not been stored more secure. This must have been (nearly) the last chance to get an incomplete He219 in a museum in Europe. With sad feelings, best regards, Marcel

Re: He 219 found in Denmark !!!
That is what happens when people do not take care of, or secure these items.
Small bits here and there... "maybe"...but an ENTIRE WING! Must have been left outside, and unsecured. |
