Identification of a jewel

This RAF pilot wings but as a jewel.
Does somebody know the precise use of this thing ? For a pilot's wife ?

Of course I was sure that it is not a high value gem, but I should hope to trace it : there is a number (326 ?) on the back.

Many thousands were made by many companies & unless engraved with a name, there is no chance of finding who owned it
