Smile Photos at the National Archives , Kew

Sorry , it was the wrong forum !

Hello gentlemen ,

From Peter Hall's book 91 Nigeria Squadron , Osprey pub. , some pictures come from serie Air 27/742 . I'm very interested in any pictures of brothers Raymond and Harold Heninger who were flying together with 91 Sq in late 1943.
If ever a nice fellow could have a look at this serie and even copying the relevent photos I'll be so grateful !! Harold was recently honoured in the village in Normandy where he found death on 6 January 1944.
Thank you,

Laurent

From the microfilm copy of the ORB it might be possible to get an idea of who is included in the photos in the 91Sqn ORB. But if you want to make good copies of the photos then the original ORB document will need to be ordered up from the depository and that incurs a hefty fee - I think £40?

Happy new year

Steve

Laurent,
Have you confirmed that the AIR 27/742 file is on micro-film? Many of the ORBs and Appendices held at Kew are original documents, and if so then any visitor can photograph the contents at the work desks.

If it is a 'hard copy', I will photograph it for you on my next visit (a couple of weeks) or perhaps someone else will be there sooner.

Hello Bruce ,

Thanks for your offer ! The only ref. I have is from Peter Hall's book , some pictures sourced as Air 27/742 , so maybe direct form the ' hard' copy as there is light glare and scratches on some photos ( see pages 88-89 ). I'm only focused on Raymond and Harold Heninger RCAF who were posted to 91 Sq in late 1943.
Just in case my email is : D010844(at)aol.com

All the best ,

Laurent
