RAF fighter planes lost over Macedonia in 1944
Hello,
I need some help on few RAF fighter planes that crashed in Macedonia (then part of Yugoslavia). I have found so far following planes: - 23/6/1944. Spitfire Vc, ES299, No 249 Sq, pilot Jacobsen http://www.allspitfirepilots.org/aircraft/ES299 - 19/10/1944. Mustang III, KH248, No 249 Sq, pilot Davey https://dalyhistory.wordpress.com/ca...force/page/13/ - 8/11/1944, Spitfire Vc, JK162, No 94 Sq, pilot Boshoff http://www.allspitfirepilots.org/aircraft/JK162 All three pilots were killed and are buried at Belgrade cemetery. CWGC confirms their units and time of death. If possible, I need approximate place of crash (i.e. in vicinity of Skopje or some other city), or at least confirmation that they crashed in Macedonia, not on some other place in Yugoslavia. I would also appreciate help if you know some other case that RAF fighter plane crashed in Macedonia. |
